Details Itinerary
Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe, embarking on a scenic 5-6 hour drive to Kibale National Park, the primate capital of Uganda. Along the way, you will pass through lush tea plantations, rolling hills, and the picturesque Fort Portal town. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon, take a guided Bigodi Wetland Walk, a community-run conservation project known for its rich biodiversity. The wetland is home to over 200 bird species and several primates, including black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and vervet monkeys. This nature walk also provides an opportunity to interact with the local community and learn about their conservation efforts. After the walk, return to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening.
After an early breakfast, head to Kibale National Park headquarters for a pre-trekking briefing by experienced rangers. You will then embark on an exciting chimpanzee trekking adventure, venturing deep into the lush rainforest in search of these fascinating primates. Once you locate a chimpanzee troop, you will have an unforgettable one-hour encounter, watching them swing from tree to tree, play, and interact in their natural habitat.
