Day 1: Arrival in Arusha & Transfer to Tarangire National Park

Arrival at Airport

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport, you will meet your guide and drive to Tarangire National Park, located about 2-3 hours from Arusha. Tarangire is known for its large herds of elephants, towering baobab trees, and abundant wildlife. After a short break, you’ll embark on an afternoon game drive, where you may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of birds. The park offers a unique landscape with open savannahs and swamps, which attracts many species. After a thrilling afternoon of wildlife viewing, you’ll head to your lodge or camp, where you will enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night, ready for another exciting day.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

You will start the day with breakfast before departing Tarangire for Ngorongoro Crater, a journey that takes approximately 3-4 hours. The drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands offers stunning views of the lush landscape and the famous volcanic caldera. Once at the crater, you’ll descend into the caldera for an unforgettable game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most biodiverse places on earth and is home to the “Big Five” – elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffaloes. Along with these, you can also expect to see herds of zebras, wildebeests, and even flamingos along the crater’s soda lake. After a day of incredible wildlife encounters, you will head to your lodge on the rim of the crater for a relaxing evening and overnight stay.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will leave the Ngorongoro Crater and head to the world-famous Serengeti National Park, a drive of around 4-5 hours. The Serengeti is renowned for its vast, sweeping plains and the annual wildebeest migration, which draws tourists from all over the globe. Upon arrival in the afternoon, you’ll enjoy your first game drive in this iconic park. Serengeti is home to an incredible array of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and a host of other species. The vastness of the park means you’ll have ample opportunities to explore and encounter diverse landscapes and animals. After the exciting game drive, you will return to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay within the Serengeti, allowing you to rest up for the next day’s adventures.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park Game Drives & Return to Arusha

On your final day, you will start with an early morning game drive to witness the Serengeti at its most active, as predators are often on the hunt at dawn. This early drive offers a chance to see the big cats in action, as well as other animals like elephants and buffaloes before the day heats up. After breakfast, you will embark on another game drive or explore a different area of the Serengeti. Later in the afternoon, you will begin your journey back to Arusha, a drive of about 5-6 hours, or you may opt for a short flight back to Arusha to save time. You will arrive in Arusha by evening, where you can either spend the night or catch a flight home, concluding your unforgettable 4-day safari in Tanzania.
